Born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1974 and raised in Ohio; Robert Stokley is a self taught artist who began drawing at 5 years of age. Art has always been a part of his life. Drawing was his first passion. He pursued his art through his years in public school and in high school he attended oil painting classes with the well known wildlife artist Dwayne Lee of Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
After graduation Robert received a scholarship and went on to attend Columbus College Of Art & Design (CCAD). Although he did not graduate from college art was always a passion and Robert began dabbling with acrylic painting in 2014. Through a mutual love of art and a desire to bring the light of art into the lives of children and their families, Lee Anne Ritchison Parsons and Robert Stokley created Artists For A Cure.
Art is a means by which we can communicate our emotions. One of our main goals as human beings is to be happy.. Artists For A Cure has made it their lifelong mission to create happy memories in art for these children and their families.
Wilma Ruth King has been a professor in commercial design and public relations for 30+ years. With both an art and journalism background she is as much a storyteller as she is an artist. She enjoys telling her stories and the stories of those she has met along the way.
Wilma now spends several hours a day dedicated to the art she loves so much. Painting with acrylics on canvas is her medium of choice. She loves experimenting with color and texture and she is steadfast in her attention to detail and a level of authenticity.
Wilma shares her love of art and her skills as an artist to elevate the status of individuals and communities. Some of her most important work have been commissioned to hang in private homes, but her art is loved by many professionals as well. Five of her paintings hang in the office of a mental health counselor and another was recently hung in a Ronald McDonald's House office.
Famed author, Toni Morrison said "At some point in life the world's beauty becomes enough. You don't need to photograph, paint or even remember it. It is enough, but until then, I paint!"

Carolyn R. Veazey, raised in New England before leaving for N.Y. City than down to MIami, Fl. and lastly, Northern Georgia in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
After high school, left for N. Y. City and worked for National Airlines in their reservations department, but decided I wanted to see more of our beautiful country, so I applied for "Stewardess" training which led to 33 years of flying not only within our country but around the world due to a merger between National Airlines and Pan American World Airways. After retiring had an avocado grove in South Miami, and to that raised Polied Herfords and Angus cows.
Through out my life I always had a pencil or colored pencils in my hand, doodling/drawing many subjects on whatever paper available. Finally living in my present area, attended Barbara McMillan, Darlene Heaton and Billy Shelburn watercolor classes along with some acrylic ones, where the lady who now has started this wonderful dream of hers' was also a "table mate". She watched me grow in my knowledge-style-and ability, unleashing a God given talent still in my mind, to put on paper beautiful colors. LeeAnne and Rob accepted my first painting I was assigned to do, and am humbled and honored to become a part of this group.
We have many more artists to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
